Actinium-225

Ac-225, a decay product of Thorium-229, is used for targeted alpha therapy treatment for certain types of prostate, brain and neuroendocrine cancers. Research and testing is currently underway for therapeutic treatment for other cancers. The high-energy alpha articles released interrupt DNA processes, keeping cancer cells from replicating and/or even killing them altogether.

Cerium-134

Ce-134 is an essential tool in diagnosing disease and monitoring treatment. Results of trials show that Ce-134, through its Lanthanum-134 (La-134) decay product, could serve as a diagnostic partner and enhancement for medical treatments based on Ac-225 or Thorium-227 (Th-227).

A radioisotope used to manufacture standards and sources for calibration of radiometric equipment and medical Gamma Cameras. It is additionally applied in various studies as a radioactive tracer. Vitamin B-12 (Albumin), labeled with Co-57, is used in diagnostic kits to study anemia.

Germanium-68

Germanium is a chemical element with the symbol Ge and atomic number 32. Ge-68 is the radiopharmaceutical used to treat cancer, heart disease, hepatitis, glaucoma, and other conditions. Ge-68 might act against inflammation. It might also have antioxidant properties and affect the immune system. 

Radioisotope Ge-68 is used to produce calibration sources for radiometric equipment and PET scanners, as well as Ge-68 and Gallium-68 (Ga-68) generators for therapeutic use in cancer treatment.

Iodine

Iodine-123

Iodine is a chemical element with the symbol I and atomic number 53. It is the heaviest of stable halogens. I-123 has gradually replaced I-131 as the isotope of choice for diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals containing radio-iodine. It gives a much lower radiation dose to the patient, and the gamma ray energy of 159 KeV is ideally suited for use in a gamma camera. The gamma ray will penetrate tissue very effectively without excessive radiation dose to the patient. For this reason, it has in many instances, replaced reactor-produced I-131. 

I-123 is the primary isotope used to take pictures and determine the activity of the intact thyroid gland (Thyroid Scan and Radioactive Iodine uptake, RAIu). Since it is harmless to thyroid cells, no special radiation precautions are necessary after a thyroid scan or RAIu with I-123.
