Germanium-68

Germanium is a chemical element with the symbol Ge and atomic number 32. Ge-68 is the radiopharmaceutical used to treat cancer, heart disease, hepatitis, glaucoma, and other conditions. Ge-68 might act against inflammation. It might also have antioxidant properties and affect the immune system.

Radioisotope Ge-68 is used to produce calibration sources for radiometric equipment and PET scanners, as well as Ge-68 and Gallium-68 (Ga-68) generators for therapeutic use in cancer treatment.
